Relaxing at home and recollecting my memories of visiting Himachal Pradesh brings smiles and happiness.
The varied combo of nature, history, divinity, and academics is the treasure of the place. I saw numerous spots during my stay in the state, each with its own kind of uniqueness. One such was the visit to the Norbulingka Institute at Mcleodganj. Sharing my experiences of visiting this holy institute, the atmosphere there, and the various curriculum the pupils are being taught.

“The goal of Buddhist practice is the attainment of spiritual realization that frees beings from the bonds of cyclic existence. The purpose of Buddhist art, therefore, is to provide support for that realization by representing objects of meditation that serve as sources of inspiration.” - Kim Yeshi

The Norbulingka artists are very forthright and willing to offer their expertise in the arts, emphasising patience while learning because only then will their efforts bear fruit.
Norbulingka introduced a holistic experience in Tibetan Buddhist civilization and culture through authentic Tibetan craft, spiritual works of art, Tibetan food and hospitality. In the midst of it all, a beautiful Tibetan Buddhist temple in Norbulingka displays the craftsmanship of Norbulingka artisans through an exquisite gigantic Thangka appliqué art hangings and carvings.
Every aspect of the Norbulingka Institute reflects this essence with great attention paid to design, meaning and quality. The various segments come together as a seamless whole while maintaining an individual story through its materials, processes and themes.
