Tucked away in the western foothills of the Himalayas, Dharamshala is a terrific spot and it is no secret. What surprised me was the quality and taste of food that was being served in the 3 suburbs of Dharamshala. The flavours, the variety, the cuisines and your dietary preferences on offer were like no other tourist location in India. One could choose from a plethora of cuisines between Indian, Italian, Tibetan, Israeli, Korean, Chinese or Japanese to name a few. Catering to several food philosophies the food spectrum is large and there is plenty to choose between meat, vegan, vegetarian & gluten free options.

In the Alps, even a plain Maggi tastes different. Your body is warmed from within by the hot food and the chilly breeze brushing your face. All people's dreams came true since Mcleodganj offered a wide variety of delectable foods.

One evening stroll on the roads of Mcleodganj, i found a cafe that offered Indian and bakery products, their croissants with mouth bursting... crispy outer layer with chocolate blasting your mouth.... every morning started with tea which way different from our normal chai, but gave different relaxation. A glass of chai in cold weather with light drizzles and amazing view... is what we call heaven.

Shops in McLeod Ganj cater to the varied taste of its many visitors, who wish to purchase the beautiful and unique handcrafted items. Most Tibetan handicrafts and artifacts draw inspiration from nature while some of them display religious figures and spiritual symbols. The very first time i was intrigued by the gems sold in Mcleodganj, every few steps the locals were selling crystals and gems. The meaning of each gems was different. The market was a fantastic place to find high-quality, genuine mementos, and this shop had a wide selection of intriguing homemade goods, including jewellery, apparel, bags, and home décor like lamps, bowls, and vases, etc.
